Puberty & Adolescence
Time to set the standards
How we experience and are cared for in these first evolutions change how we perceive every one after that.
Parenting during these evolutions (luckily) is also expanding!
Yes, there are books and lectures and research and data and personal stories to help support your parenting during these major evolutions in your children’s (and your) lives.
Many of these are incredible resources to have in your back pocket, BUT if you were one of the many parents that quickly realized that every resource out there is riddled with information and advice that doesn’t pertain to your family, your beliefs or the exact instance you’re going through, then you’ll understand how important it is to have someone (or many someone’s) to listen to you when you’re scared you will fail, guide and educate you in the right places and support you when you are about to implement a new tactic.
I will provide concrete actions and resources you can use as parents to become more comfortable, we’ll practice together and finally reflect as each new occurrence comes up.
It is your choice whether you’d like to work one on one, together with your child or in a group setting, in person or virtually. Pricing will depend on number of sessions and availability. Please inquire here:
Self-Expression and Self-Discovery
Teens are expressing themselves and exploring different types of relationships earlier and louder.
This can be a beautiful time for them to try out new identities and find where they feel safest. Having support and understanding from their parents and caretakers is key in their confidence and safety.
Relationships
Changing Bodies
We have been taught to look at the changes in our bodies as embarrassing and something to talk about only in whispers.
If we flip the script, celebrate the change in seasons and honor the transition, we set the framework for safe and supported personal care.
Watching your children navigate their first relationships can feel tricky, especially in an ever-changing sexual landscape. Being supported can help bridge the gap between parents/caretakers and their kiddos, creating healthy connections and confidence for both the adults and their children.
Pancakes, Pjs & Periods
Magical Mornings spent learning about our growing bodies, connecting the rhythm of our cycles to the natural world, creating art and lightening the shame load one giggle at a time.
